For years, the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department has been in need of a ladder truck. Now, thanks to the Southampton Village Fire Department, it has one.
The Southampton Fire Department recently decided to donate its 1972 Sutphen aerial platform truck to the Terry Farrell Foundation, an organization that helps firefighters and their families with educational, medical and equipment needs. The truck had “no usage – it was just sitting there being maintained,” Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley said. So it made sense to part with the old truck and help out another volunteer department.
